Danielle Coughlan may have the title of Financial Accountant behind her name, but she is way more to us than just that. She has such a broad depth of knowledge about Quayside, its history and structure that she is often the first port of call for any question.
Danielle moved to Tauranga from Wellington in time to start her schooling years and then completed a Bachelor in Management Studies all whilst holding down part time work to fund her studies. Danielle put her theory into practice at Deloittes in Auckland for a period of time before returning to Tauranga to work at Downer for five years.
She joined the Bay of Plenty Regional Council as Management Accountant working across the various business units before taking time off to become a mum to Paige and Cora. Dani joined Quayside in July 2018.
With the girls and her other half, Blair, they are renovating their home in Mount Maunganui which, for those of us who have done such a task, can test anyone’s sense of humour and patience.
Asked what inspires her, she is keen to do something to change the world. When pressed a little further, this comes into focus by working for an organisation that can contribute to a better life for people and doing her bit for the environment. Focused on bringing up her girls to be happy and good people, she’d like to travel with her whānau to experience different cultures and food and rekindle some past interests such as scuba diving.
Dani is one of those people that the phrase “don’t judge a book by its cover” is true. She is modest about her capabilities. She’s a reader, watcher and learner – somebody that is keen to make changes for the better – a mindset that suits her well to Quayside. We consider her one of our gems!
