We are pleased to announce the appointment of Julia Walsh as General Manager Operations, joining our team on 7 April 2026. Julia will be the strategic leader behind Quayside’s operational excellence, with portfolio oversight across People and Culture, Compliance, Marketing and Stakeholder Engagement, Health and Safety, Legal and IT. She will also join the Senior Leadership Team, strengthening Quayside’s collective leadership capability as the organisation continues to evolve.

Julia brings over a decade of senior operations and investment leadership experience across funds management and the public sector. Most recently, she was Investment Director – Operations and Programmes at Invest New Zealand, translating strategy into operating models, governance rhythms, and performance frameworks. She led end-to-end operational functions across finance, audit, CRM, digital and data, marketing, and strategic programmes supporting international investment attraction.

An extensive career within Financial Services, Julia has also worked for Pie Funds Management (JUNO Kiwisaver) and Future Super Asset Management, over this time leading large-scale operational build‑outs, scaling regulated financial products through rapid growth, strengthening governance and risk disciplines, and building high-performing teams in complex, compliance-heavy environments.

Julia holds a Bachelor of Business Analysis (Finance) from the University of Waikato.

Originally from the Bay of Plenty, Julia is looking forward to returning home with her family in the coming months. Outside of work, she enjoys family time, exploring the outdoors and staying active.  Julia is looking forward to contributing her experience and leadership to support long‑term, sustainable outcomes for the Bay of Plenty community.
