Meet Kiara – our adrenaline seeking Law Clerk

People

Kiara – her name inspired by the Lion King – is an adrenalin junkie, bungy-jumping enthusiast…

And she’s also our legal clerk proving you should never judge a book by its cover!

Graduating from the University of Canterbury where she completed her Bachelor of Laws in 2022, Kiara recently joined Quayside as our Law Clerk.

Growing up in Tauranga, having been born in South Africa and moving to Aotearoa when she was a toddler, Kiara considers this part of our world, the best place to live and work.

While Kiara may only be starting her legal career, she has a keen interest in the complexities of intellectual property law, treaty settlements and relationship property.

Canterbury provided a new experience with a diverse range of friends and cultures, but Pāpāmoa is home.  An active relaxer, Kiara loves playing touch and netball, and bobbing up and down on a jet-ski out on the water looking for fish – just don’t invite her along if you want to catch any as her strike rate is zero!

Her future holds travel and new experiences.  At the same time, Kiara and Quayside picked each other as she loves working for a community purpose – the same community that she, her friends and whānau live in.  Shared values and connection mean something to Kiara and to us as a wider team.

We look forward to Kiara’s next extreme adventures – jumping out of a plane is on the cards – in the meantime, she’ll keep trying to catch fish and watch sunsets out in our beautiful Tauranga Moana.
